  • Interpret artists’ use of abstracted images

  • Interpret the emotional qualities/artist’s intent for Giuseppe Arcimboldo

  • Examine portraits in art over time

  • Collage using paper

  • Exaggerate to distort reality

  • Experiment with gestalt

  • Identify real vs. implied textures

 

Watercolor Background with Figure  (3 class periods)

  • Collage using found objects, paper, fabric

  • Analyze accurate proportions of the human body

  • Explain how their figure is abstracted

  • Sketch original ideas to plan

Quarter 3 – Sculpture

 

Picasso Clay Faces (2 class periods)

  • Create a sculpture from clay
